CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va.—The five largest banks now account for nearly half of the industry's $15.3 trillion in assets, according to new data released by SNL Financial for the end of the third quarter.

IRVINE, Calif.—During October 2014, there were 41,000 completed foreclosures nationally, down from 55,000 in October 2013, a year-over-year decrease of 26.4% and down 65% from the peak of completed foreclosures in September 2010, according to CoreLogic’s October National Foreclosure Report, which provides data on completed U.S. foreclosures and the foreclosure inventory.

LARGO, Fla.—As part of a plea agreement, Linda Reynolds-Sienkiewicz, the former president and CEO of Pinellas FCU, has admitted to accepting a bribe from a company that provides identity theft protection services.

FAYETTEVILLE,  N.C.—Two people were robbed at gunpoint early Friday morning as they attempted to withdraw money from an ATM outside the office of State Employees’ Credit Union here. Investigators said the individuals went to the SECU office on Ramsey Street around 1:30 a.m. to make a withdrawal when they were confronted by two men with pistols.
