SAN DIEGO—Mitek has introduced mobile technology that allows FIs to quickly verify the authenticity of a person’s driver’s license. The technology is needed, according to Mitek, in order to meet demand for strong, second-factor authentication as more banks and credit unions enroll consumers via their phones for products, including digital wallets.

ALEXANDRIA, Va.—NCUA has made changes to its consumer complaint handling process, noting that in instances where credit unions are unable to resolve a complaint within 60 days the agency’s Consumer Assistance Center (CAC) will intervene.

BOSTON—A man here has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge following a sophisticated fraud that involved using a telephone to hack into a home equity credit line that belonged to a member of 360 FCU. The Journal-Inquirer reported the man, Gerald A. Burke, 23, who works at a fast food chain, was able to use the scam to steal $68,000 from the member.
