Man Pleads Guilty To Hacking Home Equity Line

BOSTON—A man here has pleaded guilty to a reduced charge following a sophisticated fraud that involved using a telephone to hack into a home equity credit line that belonged to a member of 360 FCU. The Journal-Inquirer reported the man, Gerald A. Burke, 23, who works at a fast food chain, was able to use the scam to steal $68,000 from the member.

Burke pleaded guilty to second-degree larceny, the Journal Inquirer reported. Sentencing is scheduled for July 22.
