LUBBOCK, Texas – Armelinda Maria Castillo, 31, has been sentenced to serve 33 months in prison for misapplication of bank funds by a bank employee.
Castillo admitted that between April 2009 and April 2012 she stole money from Westex Federal Credit Union. Court records did not indicate the amount of money stolen, but Castillo was ordered to pay restitution of $690,000.
Those same records indicate that Castillo admitted to depositing most of the money into accounts at Westex FCU that were in her name or that of her boyfriend.
