ELGIN, Ill.—It’s time for credit unions to move money out of investments and into higher-yielding auto loans, and to reach down to lower credit scores.

RENFREWSHIRE, U.K.–The Renfrewshire Council has allocated £175,898 investment in local credit unions as part of a two-pronged drive to fight high-cost lenders and tackle poverty. The move will also mean the introduction of the first credit union funeral loan – available to all residents, not just credit union members.

COLUMBUS, Ohio–The $548-million Telhio CU here has signed a long-term agreement with PSCU to provide its approximately 50,000 members with overflow and after-hours phone support as the credit union undergoes an online banking conversion this spring and a data processing core conversion at the end of September.
