WHEELING, W.Va.—Kathleen Gramlich, the former executive director at the $5.7-million Ohio County Public Schools FCU, has pleaded guilty to charges of embezzlement.
Gramlich pleaded guilty in federal court to one count of theft from a credit union. She faces up to 30 years in prison, Metro News reported.
As CUToday.info reported, Gramlich, 65, allegedly stole more than $156,000 from the CU and used the funds to pay personal debts between June 2013 and March 2016, YourOhioValley.com reported.
When Gramlich was charged last month, the court also stated that it will seek an order that Gramlich make full restitution,
Thee suspected embezzlement first came to light in March after it was confirmed by an auditor from the West Virginia Credit Union League. The credit union’s board of directors then hired Steptoe and Johnson to conduct an initial investigation before federal officials became involved.
