WASHINGTON— The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has proposed extending the effective date of two recent debt collection rules, saying it wants to give affected parties more time to comply due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

WASHINGTON—The Federal Reserve has released an industry-recommended definition of synthetic identity fraud: “The use of a combination of personally identifiable information (PII) to fabricate a person or entity in order to commit a dishonest act for personal or financial gain.”

WASHINGTON—Low-income designated credit unions can begin applying for grants through NCUA's Community Development Revolving Loan Fund (CDRLF) May 3. The agency said it plans to distribute approximately $1.5 million in grants, according to the notice of funding opportunity.
