WASHINGTON—Alan Greenspan, the influential economist who led the Federal Reserve for nearly two decades and helped shape U.S. monetary policy across four presidential administrations, has died at age 100 from complications of Parkinson’s disease, according to a statement released by his wife, journalist Andrea Mitchell. The Federal Reserve confirmed his death Monday and praised Greenspan's lasting impact on the institution and the broader economy.
