WASHINGTON–Alleging credit unions are showing “troubling parallels” to the 1980s savings & loan crisis, state bankers associations in 50 states plus Puerto Rico have sent a joint letter to the Ways & Means committees of both the House and Senate demanding renewed oversight over credit unions, including hearings on whether the “tax- exempt credit union industry lives up to the ideals of its founding.”

According to the league, the meeting provided Sen. Collins with an overview of the security measures and technology Maine’s credit unions utilize to protect member data and prevent financial fraud.

ST. CROIX FALLS, Wis.– Royal Credit Union has broken ground for a new office location here. Construction will begin in August and should be complete in February 2020. The new office will include a full-service lobby, drive-up and ATM.
