DELRAY BEACH, Fla.–iTHINK Financial Credit Union partnered with Warrick Dunn Charities’ Homes for the Holidays program, Aaron’s, and Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta to make a single mom’s dream of homeownership come true come true.
On Nov. 24th first-time homeowner and single mom to two, Sherkira, was presented her new home through Habitat for Humanity of NW Metro Atlanta. iTHINK Financial surprised Sherkira with a $10,000 worth of furnishings for every room of the new home from Aaron’s, Inc.
Warrick Dunn Charities founded Homes for the Holidays (HFTH) to honor founder Warrick Dunn’s mother’s dream of homeownership. The program partners with local community organizations to reduce the burden on new, single parent homeowners by fully furnishing their new house, providing down payment assistance checks, and stocking the pantry with food. HFTH was created from the belief that a better future starts with hope.
Sherkira is a hardworking member of the Douglasville, Ga. community and a bus driver for Connect Douglas. A single mom to two teenagers, she had rented a house and has long dreamed of becoming a homeowner.
