EL PASO, Texas--evolve FCU recently sponsored its second blood drive in partnership with Vitalant.
The I-10 Coalition Blood Drive was hosted at the University of El Paso Texas (UTEP) and New Mexico State University (NMSU). Each University competed to see who could donate more blood units through the week from September 9 through September 13.
Throughout the week the evolve team helped the Vitalant team and NMSU promote the event by being present and educating the students on the importance of donating blood and how it helps the community. The evolve team also introduced themselves to the students as a credit union with unique products offered exclusively to them, such as the Collegiate* checking account.
"The turnout was great at both universities and some of the staff from the evolve team event found the courage to roll up their sleeves and donate for a good cause. As the week concluded on Friday the 13th, NMSU came on top with a total of 300 units and UTEP with a total of 282 units respectively. It was a great partnership between Vitalant and evolve FCU for the annual I-10 Coalition," the CU said.
