eCO CU Increases Support for Financial Literacy

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. —Over the last few years, eCO Credit Union said it has increased its efforts to encourage financial literacy in the community. Through the eCO Savings Race, sponsorships, and classroom seminars, eCO has invested much time and resources to teaching sound financial principles. The efforts continued to show the demand for financial education. In response to the great need, the eCO Credit Union Foundation was created, the credit union said.

The eCO Credit Union Foundation is a 501 (3)(c) with all funds devoted to financial literacy. The mission of the foundation is to make financial education resources available to people of all ages, specifically in the areas served by eCO Credit Union.

“We feel the launch of the eCO Credit Union Foundation is very timely and necessary for the Birmingham area,” said Joey Hand, eCO CEO. “I’m excited to see the long-term impact the foundation will have on the community.”

The eCO Credit Union Foundation is sponsoring upcoming financial education seminars. With topics ranging from couponing to auto buying, the seminars are designed to provide practical financial solutions.
