Zeal CU Awards 7 Scholarships

LIVONIA, Mich.–  Zeal Credit Union awarded seven scholarships totaling $14,000 to 2018 graduating high school seniors in metro Detroit. Students and their families were recognized at the credit union’s 63rd Annual Membership meeting.

This is the 24th year of the scholarship program which honors longtime credit union volunteers and recognizes outstanding students who are Zeal Credit Union members. Nearly $250,000 has been awarded since the program began.

Scholarship applicants were asked to write brief essays about how they live with character, feel with empathy and act with passion in their school and community. The topic underscores the mission of Zeal Credit Union to serve its hard-working members with passion, empathy and character.

“It was difficult to select our winners from so many worthy applications,” said Tiffany Sweet, youth and community development coordinator for Zeal Credit Union. “We thank all of the parents, families and educators who support these students throughout the year.”
