EL SEGUNDO, Calif.–Capping a year in which the CU’s fundraising activities and associate contributions totaled more than $14,000 to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, Xceed Financial Credit Union’s President and Chief Executive Teresa Freeborn presented the charity with two checks amounting to nearly $14,578 at an event at Xceed’s El Segundo headquarters.
“Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has been Xceed Financial’s charity of choice for many years, and we’re thrilled to end 2016 with two major gifts to help the children and families they serve,” said Freeborn. “Xceed Financial’s associates and members feel strongly about making sure that sick children receive the medical care they need, and they definitely demonstrated that in their activities and contributions this year.”
One of the checks, for $3,500, represented the second-place winnings of the Xceed Financial team of associates who competed in a chili cook-off in August; Xceed’s “Team Chili con Credit Union” placed second in the contest, which was hosted by Xpress Data Inc., a credit union service provider. The other check, amounting to $11,078, represented the proceeds of Xceed Financial’s raffle of nine iPads to associates earlier this month.
Throughout the year, Xceed said its associates also contributed cash to CMN via payroll deductions and both associates and members participated in various events like the annual “Shop for Miracles” campaign, whereby the Credit Union contributes a quarter for every Xceed check card or debit card transaction made on a given day. In addition, the Credit Union, itself, also made a $5,000 cash contribution in 2016 on behalf of all of its members.
