Woke Ass People Sponsoring Hip Hop for the Homeless

PLANO, Texas–The team behind the “Woke Ass People” podcast, Meghan Jamison and Dan Marquez, is sponsoring the 7th annual benefit tour, “Hip Hop for the Homeless.”

Jamison and Marquez, who met in 2018 during Credit Union Development Education (CUDE) training,  said sponsoring the event is “the most seamless way to open up the podcast to non-credit union people, and back a community project that has credit union written all over it: except the visionaries behind this epic project aren’t credit union people. They are a group of creatives from Connecticut who saw a need for assistance in their communities, and found a way to deliver on the need.

“Disproportionately, LGBT and BIPOC youth find themselves without roofs over their heads. For communities across Connecticut, a coalition of creatives in the music scene have vowed to bring assistance again for the 7th consecutive year, despite the complications of COVID-19,” the organizers said. “Woke Ass People team has partnered with Hip Hop for the Homeless to raise awareness and resources for individuals experiencing homelessness.”
Calling it a “DE project in disguise,” Marquez and Jamison are urging credit unions to give to the gofundme campaign! DONATION LINK A $25 donation will get a HH4H t-shirt.
