Whitefish CU Hits $2B in Assets

WHITEFISH, Mont.–Whitefish Credit Union said it has achieved a new milestone, hitting $2 billion in total assets as it marks its 87th year of service.

The credit union said it attributes its growth to its strategic planning and focus on providing exceptional value for its members. In 2020, Whitefish CU noted it expanded its services by improving its online loan application and launching a new online membership application, which helped contribute to nearly 2,700 net new accounts opened last year.

The credit union reported it funded over $265 million in new home loans and lent over $25 million in home equity lines of credit in 2020. Whitefish CU ranks within the top 1% of all credit unions in average loan and deposit balances.

“Reaching $2 billion in total assets is a testament to the continued support of our members,” said James Kenyon, president and CEO. “We reached this milestone much earlier than expected, and it was a direct result of our members looking to us for their financial needs. We are excited by the opportunities this growth represents as we look to expand our services in support of our members.”

Now with more than 60,000 members, WCU said it has expanded its field of membership to include residents of Broadwater, Gallatin, Lewis and Clark, Missoula, and Ravalli counties.
