GREENSBORO, NC—Lauren Whaley has been named executive director of the Carolinas Credit Union Foundation.
Whaley was most recently vice president of governmental affairs at the Carolinas Credit Union League, a role in which she developed influential relationships including close connections with credit union leaders. She brings to the Foundation nearly seven years of experience in advocating not only for credit union business concerns but also their unique focus on people and communities. She also has a combined four years in public relations and communications with Jennings of Chapel Hill and Truliant Federal Credit Union.

"Lauren brings to this organization a unique combination of knowledge, public relations, and passion. We see great things ahead in enriching the lives of children in the Carolinas and continuing to demonstrate that credit unions care."
A graduate of North Carolina State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management, Whaley is a founding CUaware council member and has been chairman of the North Carolina Jump$tart Coalition Board of Directors, vice chairman of the North Carolina Council on Economic Education, and a member of the North Carolina Professional Lobbyists Association Board of Directors.
