DENVER, Colo.– Westerra Credit Union said it will continue to support continued support of the Colorado Homeownership Coalition (CHC), a charitable organization designed to provide mortgage assistance to homeowners experiencing a temporary disruption in income to avoid delinquent mortgage payments and ultimately resume self-sufficiency.
The CU said CHC's mission deeply resonates with its core values, resulting in this partnership.
Westerra Credit Union is donating $20 to CHC with every closed home loan, up to $10,000 per year.
The $10,000 per year ensures three families will have the assistance to overcome hardships and save their homes.
Westerra said its recurring giving guarantees multiple CHC families receive assistance each year, as 40% of homeowners are just one income interruption away from not being able to make their monthly mortgage payments.

Westerra’s involvement with the Colorado Homeownership Coalition continues to be a good way for our credit union to support our neighbors during hardships,” stated VP-Mortgage Lending Michelle Burke. “This reoccurring donation is a way for Westerra to assist CHC and this important initiative to help individuals and families that desperately need this lifeline.”
