DENVER–Westerra Credit Union has received three community impact awards in recognition of its community engagement and philanthropic program, “Westerra Cares,” which focuses on key areas of education, financial literacy and community basics.
In 2022, Westerra Cares contributed more than 1,300 hours of employee volunteer hours and donated more than $600,000 to the communities it serves.
The awards included Dora Maxwell awards.
“These awards acknowledge the dedication of Westerra's employees, volunteers and Board of Directors who invested their time and talent into the communities we serve,” said CEO Steve Schmidle, “When our communities and members prosper, we prosper.”
Added VP-Corporate Communications Kristina Shaw, “Westerra is incredibly fortunate to have Andrea leading up our community engagement efforts and serving as our representative in the community. I have had the pleasure of overseeing the community engagement program and working alongside Andrea for the past two years. In that time, I have witnessed the positive impact and transformation she has made on our Westerra Cares program and in our communities. This award is well-deserved.”
