WESTERLY, R.I.–Westerly Community Credit Union has awarded four $1,500 scholarships andone $1,500 scholarship to local students of Chariho, North Kingstown, and Westerly High Schools, respectively.
Dominick Lombard, of Westerly, was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union - Joseph N. Cugini Memorial Scholarship. The Joseph N. Cugini Memorial Scholarship is named on behalf of the Credit Union’s former president, CEO and chairman, who retired in 2000 after 41 years of service. Dominick will be attending Harvard to study Political Science.
Grace Fran of North Kingstow was awarded the Westerly Community Credit Union - Robert M. Bewlay Memorial Scholarship. The Robert M. Bewlay Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of the CU’s former VP. Grace will be attending the University of Rhode Island to study Psychology and Criminalistics.
Maeve Lamson of Charlestown and Yutong Wu of Westerly were each awarded a Westerly Community Credit Union College Scholarship, which is awarded to a high school graduate attending a four-year college or university. Maeve will be attending Sara Lawrence College to study psychiatry. Yutong will be attending Savanna College to study art.
Dominick Lombard from Westerly, R.I. was selected to receive a $1,500 Credit Union Scholarship award.
