WESTERLY, R.I.–Westerly Community Credit Union has awarded 18 WCCU Teacher Grant Awards, totaling just over $7,700 for the 2019/20 school year. The Westerly Community Credit awarded grants to teachers from the Chariho, Exeter-West Greenwich, Narragansett, North Stonington, South Kingstown, Stonington, and Westerly school districts this week. Congratulations to the following Teacher Grant Recipients:
- Sara Reilly of the Chariho School District
- Amy Hubertus and Erin McKeen of the Exeter-West Greenwich School District
- Michelle Haskell of the Narragansett School District
- Rebecca Schilke of the North Stonington School District
- Brenda Dillmann and Caroline Roque of the South Kingstown School District
- Tricia DeLapp, Kai Duran, Elaine Temel, Kristen Morehouse, Amanda Volpe, Daniel Barth, Tim Flanagan, Lori Liguori, and Laura Dow of the Stonington School District
- Anne Barnhart, Melissa Tallardy, and Felicia Connelly of the Westerly School District
“This year was very competitive. We received over 41 outstanding applications, which represent the many exemplary Teachers, Administrators and Staff members in our neighboring school communities,” said Steve White, WCCU president and CEO. “We are so pleased to help fund these innovative programs and look forward to continuing to support future projects through our Teacher Grant program. This program directly supports our WCCU Cares initiative.”

Westerly Community Credit Union’s Teacher Grant Program awarded grants up to $500. WCCU awards their grants annually to support creative and experiential educational projects or programs in the area’s school districts. Special consideration will be given to innovative projects that strengthen the relationship between our schools and the community at large, and to projects that support student excellence.
