Volunteer Corporate Credit Union Promotes Adkison and Dato

NASHVILLE – Volunteer Corporate Credit Union has promoted Christina Adkison to senior vice president of strategic initiatives and Jeff Dato to executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO).

Adkison has served as project specialist with VolCorp since January 2019. As senior vice president of strategic initiatives, Adkison will be responsible for the development, execution, and oversight of VolCorp’s strategic initiatives.  As head of the strategic initiatives division, Adkison will oversee project management, innovation, product/service quality, and member onboarding.  Adkison will also be vital in the development and oversight of VolCorp’s CUSO, scheduled to launch in 2021.  For over 26 years, Adkison has served in many roles in the credit union industry, including accounting, finance, and information technology.  Adkison most recently served as the CFO of Life Credit Union in Nashville, Tenn.  Prior to her tenure at Life Credit Union, Adkison was CFO for Southeast Financial Credit Union in Franklin, TN, where she was instrumental in the implementation of strategic initiatives, including several mergers and system conversions.  Adkison is a graduate of Middle Tennessee State University, where she earned her BBA in Accounting in 1995.  She went on to earn her CPA in 1997.  Adkison has been married for 25 years and has one daughter who is a freshman in college.

Dato has been VolCorp’s senior vice president and chief risk officer since 2018.  As COO, Dato will add day-to-day operational oversight of the Corporate to his existing duties including information technology, human resources, administration, marketing, and member experience and engagement. He brings over 30 years of diverse business administration experience to this role having served in executive and board-level positions for more than 20 years. His professional roots are based in financial services – Richmond Virginia-based banks, Crestar and Central Fidelity National – where he worked in Trust and Risk Management before moving on to global advisory leadership roles. For the last 15 years, Dato has served in executive positions within the aviation, hospitality, manufacturing, and financial services industries, helping organizations improve their bottom line through enhanced operational efficiency.
