Vizo Financial Hot Dog Eating Contest Raises $5,000

MIDDLETOWN, Penn.–Vizo Financial’s sixth annual Hot Dog Eating Contest included the largest number of contestants and sponsors to date, raising a grand total of $5,000 for Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals at Penn State Children’s Hospital in Hershey, Penn.

Ten contestants from various Central Pennsylvania credit unions competed to see who could eat the greatest number of hot dogs in five minutes. There was an even split, with five women in the women’s competition and five men in the men’s competition. The contestants included: Terry Bitner, Vizo Financial; Elizabeth Bridgeman, Belco Community CU; Arlanda Dintaman, Members 1stFCU; Anita Fonner, Vizo Financial; Talia Frysinger, First Capital FCU; Mike Heider, Vizo Financial; Bob Keener, Belco Community CU; Toni Montgomery, Blue Chip FCU; Corey Mosby, Blue Chip FCU; and Brit Parker, AmeriChoice FCU.

Brit Parker from AmeriChoice Federal Credit Union won the women’s competition, defending her title for the third year in a row, with seven hot dogs. Arlanda Dintaman from Members 1stFCU won the men’s competition, consuming eight hot dogs.

For this year’s contest, credit unions and supporters were able to order contest t-shirts. Contestants received complimentary t-shirts. In addition, credit unions had the opportunity to purchase one of two sponsorships: the Frankfurter for $50 or All the Fixin’s for $100. Nineteen credit unions and organizations purchased sponsorships.
