GREENSBORO, N.C. –Vizo Financial held its first-ever virtual Financial Conference but reported there were still many familiar features to the conference though, with the event that spanned three days.
The conference hosted six expert speakers from a variety of renowned financial and credit union-industry organizations, including:
- Lori Carmichael, Doeren Mayhew
- J. Owen Cole, Jr., NCUA
- Orrin Edwards, Raymond James
- Dr. Troy Hall, South Carolina FCU
- Scott Huffmon, Winthrop University
- Chris Low, FHN Financial
Education sessions over the three days covered the impacts of the economy and political landscape, engagement and cohesion, accounting and finance in the time of COVID, a CEO roundtable and regulatory update, Vizo Financial said.
In addition, a virtual networking event was held on the evening of September 16 to foster casual discussions on sports, food/beverage/travel and trivia, it added.
According to Vizo Financial, as the event was virtual, the event app played a huge role in helping attendees connect and learn through the conference. The app was an all-in-one place for attendees to network, take notes, download PDFs, customize their agendas and participate in games.
“Even though this year’s Financial Conference was virtual, it still hit the mark on financial education for credit unions and allowed us to keep safety top of mind,” said Fred Eisel, chief investment officer for Vizo Financial. “We definitely missed being all together, but the format of the sessions, the speakers and the camaraderie of everyone in attendance made for an event that was enjoyable all around.”
And according to the attendees, the feeling was mutual, Vizo Financial said. Here are some things attendees had to say about the virtual Financial Conference:
- “Thank you for a very informative conference.”
- “Very well organized, like all your events. Thank you!”
- “Loved the attention to detail (specifically the snacks), as always!”
- “Virtual conference was a success!”
The 2021 Financial Conference will be held on Sept. 15-17, 2021, and is tentatively scheduled to be held at the Ballantyne Hotel in Charlotte, N.C.
