VENTURA COUNTY, Calif.— Ventura County Credit Union has promoted three of its team members to new roles within the credit union.
Tina Estes now serves as vice president of marketing, and Beverly Armendariz is taking on the role of vice president of human resources. Edmond Sahakian is the new chief lending officer.
With 23 years of experience in marketing and 15 years of experience in the financial industry, Estes brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to VCCU. She holds bachelor’s degrees in sociology and marketing, and in 2014, she graduated with high honors from Western CUNA Management School. She has worked for VCCU for 12 years, and previously served as the assistant vice president of marketing. In her new role as vice president of marketing, Estes oversees the marketing and community development departments.
Armendariz has 20 years of experience in the financial services industry and has been part of the VCCU team for five years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with an emphasis in human resources management. Armendariz is SHRM-SCP and SPHR certified, and she previously served as the credit union’s assistant vice president of human resources. In her new role as vice president of human resources, she is responsible for managing all aspects of VCCU’s human resources department.
During his five-year tenure at VCCU, Sahakian has helped the credit union maintain a 20% growth rate in residential lending each year and expand its commercial lending portfolio from less than $2 million to nearly $65 million. Sahakian earned his bachelor’s degree at California State University, Northridge, and completed the graduate banking program at Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington. Bringing more than 30 years of financial services experience to VCCU, Sahakian previously served as the credit union’s vice president of business and home loan services. In his new role as chief lending officer, he oversees all aspects of the credit union’s lending services.
