VENTURA, Calif.— Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) announces its recent recognition as a recipient of the Corporate Award from the Ventura County Chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The award was presented to VCCU by Al Duff, an emeritus VCCU board member, at the NAACP Freedom Fund Banquet on Oct. 10, 2015.
The NAACP Corporate Award honors organizations that demonstrate hard work and a willingness to practice diversity in the workplace. The annual banquet –– themed “Injustice anywhere is a threat to Justice Everywhere” –– further acknowledges the local businesses and leaders that have made a positive impact on the Ventura County community.
“Since our founding, more than 65 years ago, we have always maintained our commitment to the people of Ventura County — including our staff, members as well as the community at large,” said Joe Schroeder, VCCU president and CEO. “We pride ourselves not only on providing high-quality service but also on making our workplace diverse, happy and healthy for all of our employees.”
