VENTURA, Calif.— Ventura County Credit Union (VCCU) has been named as the Distinguished Business Leader of the Year by the Ventura County Leadership Academy (VCLA). The credit union will be honored for the achievement at the Journey to Leadership Awards luncheon on April 7 at the Commemorative Air Force Museum in Camarillo, Calif.
The annual Journey to Leadership Awards seeks to identify community leaders whose actions have improved the quality of life of Ventura County residents. Since its inception in 1950, VCCU has maintained its commitment to the community, participating in more than 400 local events per year. The credit union’s employees also serve on 23 different local boards. In the past year, VCCU employees have additionally volunteered a total of 810 hours to various local groups through its annual CommUNITY Giving program, which compensates employees for up to 40 hours of community service annually.
“We are thrilled to be receiving this honor from VCLA in recognition of our long-standing mission to help the people of our community thrive in all aspects of their lives,” said Linda Rossi, VCCU’s chief administrative officer and VCLA alumna. “To be selected along with such a dignified group of local leaders is an honor, and we look forward to continuing to provide our community with superior service and volunteer efforts for years to come.”
