Ventura County CU Makes Wish Come True

VENTURA COUNTY, Calif.— In partnership with Make-A-Wish  Tri-Counties, Ventura County Credit Union employees helped make five-year-old Delilah’s wish for a backyard playset with a shady playhouse come true.

The credit union said Delilah is energetic and always has a smile on her face. She also has a nervous system disorder that causes seizures and has endured many hospital visits in her young life. She loves to play outside with her sister.

Through a series of fun employee events and activities, VCCU raised $5,000 to make Delilah’s wish come true. Her playset has a slide, swings, a climbing wall and a playhouse that Delilah can enjoy all year long.

Her wish was granted and revealed recently with a surprise celebration in her family’s backyard, which was decorated with signs and balloons to honor the occasion. VCCU employees Edith Campa, Tina Estes, Daisy Gonzales and Mandi Evans attended the wish reveal and celebrated with the local family.

VCCU said its partnership with Make-A-Wish Tri-Counties is one of many examples of the credit union’s community involvement. Each year VCCU participates in and/or sponsors more than 500 local events and collaborates with numerous local businesses, schools and nonprofits to help Ventura County thrive.
