HONOLULU–The University of Hawai`i Federal Credit Union (UHFCU) received the Lokahi Award for its 2016 Aloha United Way (AUW) campaign at its Spirit of Community Awards ceremony at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel.
The Spirit of Community Awards recognize individuals and companies whose extraordinary level of commitment helps to raise millions of dollars each year to support local charities who impact hundreds of thousands of lives.
UHFCU earned the Lokahi award (“Lokahi” translates to “harmony with unity”) in the category of Small Business. This category recognizes increased employee participation in a workplace campaign by 10% or more.
“Similar to the credit union movement, the Aloha United Way has brought people together to focus on the most essential and important needs of the community. The University of Hawai`i Federal Credit Union and our employees are dedicated to supporting and helping AUW make a positive impact in the local community,” said UHFCU President and CEO Jeanine Morse. “We’re extremely proud of our employees, who are being recognized for their outstanding efforts, creativity, and dedication in supporting AUW each year.”
