BURNSVILLE, Minn. — US Federal Credit Union has surpassed the $1-billion in assets threshold as it prepares to turn 90 years old. The credit union now serves 70,000 members.
“We didn’t necessarily plan to hit two milestones so close to each other,” explained Bill Raker, USFCU President/CEO, “but as it turns out we’re excited to celebrate our growth and our longevity twice in 2015.”
Established in 1925 by and for the employees of the Minneapolis Post Office, the credit union has come a long way since its humble beginnings. “We proudly serve federal employees,” said Raker, “but we also proudly serve the entire seven county metro area.”
The credit union expanded to a community charter in 2004, allowing membership to those who live, work, worship, attend school or volunteer in the Greater Twin Cities Community. Members are served at eight full-service locations, three additional locations within places of employment, and via a host of online and mobile channels. USFCU’s mobile app alone is accessed greater than 150,000 times each month.
