WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Truliant Federal Credit Union held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its newest full-service branch location, a 2,500-square-foot facility on Park Road in Charlotte. The new location give Truliant 14 Member Financial Centers in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg region by the end of 2016. The 63-year-old credit union has had a presence in Charlotte for nearly three decades and is now dotting its I-485 corridor and interior with new locations.
The Member Financial Centers reflect Truliant’s new Life Improved brand with increased amenities, an open design, Wi-Fi access and teller pods that remove barriers to improve member interactions. The branches also include Smart ATMs that distribute multi-denominational amounts and accept deposits without envelopes.
In support of its expansion, Truliant has launched a social media campaign that will award four individuals $25,000 each for a total of $100,000. Truliant wants to know how $25,000 will help entrants achieve their “why” in life.
Separately, Truliant FCU awarded eight scholarships to help student member-owners meet higher education goals.
Truliant began establishing scholarship funds nearly two decades ago as a benefit to member-owners attaining a post-secondary education. For the 2015 awards, scholarship applicants were asked to write a brief essay describing the impact their education will have on world issues affecting their generation. Truliant received more than 100 applications.
Truliant awarded eight $1,000 scholarships from two scholarship funds: the Fred J. Sarda Fund and the Clyde O. Padgett Fund.
