PLYMOUTH, Minn. - TruStone Financial Federal Credit Union celebrated the opening of its new branch in Golden Valley with a ribbon-cutting ceremony here.
Nearly 10 years in the making, the Boone Avenue location has been a major initiative driven by member need and credit union growth. Speakers at the ceremony included TruStone Financial leadership and local dignitaries. A special appearance was also made by the University of Minnesota mascot, Goldy Gopher.
“This branch perfectly represents what your neighborhood credit union strives to be,” said TruStone Financial Chief Business Officer Steve Steen. “With state-of-the-art facilities, a friendly community and a little bit of local flair, this branch embodies everything we value as an institution.”
TruStone Financial has been a staple of the Golden Valley community since it purchased its first physical location on Douglas Drive in 1965. In 1975, the credit union opened its branch to the longstanding Olson Memorial Highway location which housed the credit union for 40 years.
“TruStone has been a leader in our community for many years serving as a symbol of financial stability and viability and it is a pleasure to have them continue their long-term dedication to the Golden Valley area,” said Golden Valley Mayor Shep Harris. “The credit union provides a welcoming presence for those who enter our community and are leading the way for economic revitalization that’s been a need in our city for quite some time.”
TruStone Financial is also opening a new branch in Burnsville. The credit union’s Roseville location at 2150 Lexington Avenue North will also receive an exterior remodel later this fall.
“From expanding our product offerings to increasing the technology we utilize, this new branch and those to come are a symbol of our continued growth and dedication to our members,” said Chief Executive Officer Tim Bosiacki, “We’ve grown so much the past 75 years and are excited to see how our vision is brought to life in the years to come.”
