Town & Country FCU Offering Grants

SCARBOROUGH, Maine–The final list of Cumberland and York County non-profit organizations eligible for a share of $25,000 from the Town & Country Federal Credit Union’s Better Neighbor Fund charitable giving campaign have been announced.

The Better Neighbor Fund has already distributed $175,000 in grants since its inception in the fall 2010 to support 56 different charitable projects designed to support the local communities. From the final list of 25 nominees, eight grant winners will be decided by public vote and will share the $25,000 funds.

Through Oct. 31st, the public can vote for any of the 25 Better Neighbor Fund nominees through the Town & Country Federal Credit Union Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/TownandCountryFCU. The eight charitable organizations with the most online votes will be announced at a special evening event on Thursday, November 16th at Town & Country Center in Scarborough.

The finalists, nominated through Town & Country’s website during September, are the first 25 organizations that best met the qualification criteria outlining specific projects that would benefit the community.

Town & Country President & CEO, David Libby, is urging people to take the time to vote on Facebook.  “The 25 finalists were nominated by the community and now it's time to vote. With the wide range of nominees, we are reminded of the good works of so many non-profit groups across Southern Maine. We are pleased to be able to make a positive contribution to their continued efforts, through our Better Neighbor Fund.”
