LAUREL, Md.–Tower FCU’s TowerCares Foundation hosted a golf tournament that raised more than $26,000 for the Johns Hopkins Children Center (JHCC) in Baltimore.
More than 85 golfers participated in this year’s tournament, held at Renditions Golf Club in Davidsonville, Md.
“The success of the Tower Classic would not be possible without the generosity of the golfers, tournament sponsors, vendors and volunteers,” said Rick Stafford, president of the TowerCares Foundation. “Everyone at the tournament was in the spirit of giving and supporting the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center for the critical work that they do to help children in need—an important part of the TowerCares mission.”
Event proceeds from players, sponsors and donors totaled $16,330. Tower Federal Credit Union and Jersey Mike’s Subs were major tournament sponsors. CO-OP Financial Services contributed an additional $10,000 through its Miracle Match program.
This year, TowerCares has donated a total of $31,330 to JHCC through the golf tournament and other charitable giving, including a $5,000 donation to the Children’s Center in July.
“The Johns Hopkins Children’s Center team is incredibly grateful for the support of the TowerCares Foundation and funds raised through the annual Tower Classic,” said Lindsay Kahler, Associate Director of Development for JHCC. “The funds raised will help expand crucial programs and sustain our ability to ensure that no child is ever denied healthcare services in their greatest time of need. Because of TowerCares, the Children’s Center remains a place of hope, healing and compassion that will change lives and create a lasting impact for generations to come.”
