ST. LOUIS--Together Credit Union has named Nikia Montgomery Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Ambassador.
"Together Credit Union strives to create an inclusive workplace that promotes and values diversity and an environment in which all team members feel they belong," said Claire Trunko, Chief People and Strategy Officer. "Ensuring everyone, from any background, can do their best work is the right thing to do, will make us stronger, and ultimately provide the best experiences for our members."In 2018, Together Credit Union formed a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. Championed by dedicated team members, the council serves as an advisory committee, providing feedback and support on ways the organization can better incorporate DEI initiatives into the business. In addition, the credit union supports grassroots organized Employee Resource Groups focused on providing support to team members with shared characteristics and guiding the organization on how to better engage with team members and raise awareness of relevant topics surrounding underrepresented groups in the workplace. "I believe celebrating our unique experiences, voices, and perspectives makes us a stronger, more united force. Together Credit Union has recognized this need to evolve into a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization to better serve its members and communities. Our efforts will usher in a new era where all team members and members feel comfortable to share their authentic selves," said Montgomery.
