ST. LOUIS--Pamela Lambkins, Together Credit Union Branch Manager in Florissant, has graduated from the St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative’s Fellows Program.
Of the 87 Fellows in Cohort 14, Lambkins was the only graduate from the credit union industry.“The initiative has motivated me to not only be just a better version of myself but inspired me to get out and make a difference at the credit union and in the communities where I live and work,” said Lambkins. “In the words of John Lewis, I want to be purposeful to get into ‘good trouble.’”The St. Louis Business Diversity Initiative, a part of the St. Louis Regional Chamber, helps area companies build successful diversity and inclusion programs. The Fellows Program supports this effort by addressing the interests and challenges of professionals of color as they work to develop and advance their careers. It features a holistic approach that creates a safe and stimulating environment for participants to receive valuable feedback, self-reflect on the feedback, acquire effective leadership strategies, and build relationships essential to their individual and collective growth, the CU said. While this year presented challenges, the Fellows Program continued to thrive in a virtual environment where the Fellows supported each other and grew. They were honored at a culminating event celebrating the graduation at World Wide Technology Raceway.“We came into the program representing various ethnicities, backgrounds, and careers, and formed a bond through shared learning and experiences. They are now a part of my network to exchange expertise and lend advice. I believe we are all stronger, personally and professionally, after our time in the program, and will create real change in our work,” added Lambkins.
