Texas Trust Credit Union's Stephens To Retire

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Trust Credit Union Executive Vice President Pamela Stephens will retire at the end of this month, ending a 37-year career in the credit union industry.

Pamela Stephens

Stephens began her credit union career as a secretary in the audit department of the Nebraska Credit Union League. She then moved to Security One Federal Credit Union as controller, working her way up to the position of President and CEO. In that role, she led Security One for 25 years, including overseeing the 2013 merger between Security One and Texas Trust. At Texas Trust, Stephens has been a key part of the executive leadership team, overseeing a number of departments and strategic initiatives and helping the credit union become a $1 billion financial institution, the CU said.

Stephens’ influence has reached beyond the credit unions she served, extending to leadership positions within the Cornerstone Credit Union League Board of Directors where she served in various capacities for 13 years, numerous league committees, and CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Committee. She is known as a strong credit union advocate and an exemplary leader within the industry and in numerous civic and community organizations, the CU said.

"I have been blessed to have known Pamela for nearly 20 years. She has left a positive mark on the industry and our members,” said Jim Minge, President and CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union. “Her selfless dedication and passion for the industry is evident in everything she did here at Texas Trust and in the community.”

Beyond Texas Trust, Stephens has dedicated her time to supporting the American Heart Walk and Relay for Life, in which she served as the local chair for annual fundraising events.

“It has been a privilege to work alongside Pamela to serve our members and the industry,” said Minge. “She has been an integral part of Texas Trust and has helped make us all better over the years. Her charitable spirit led her to create the Community Unity Team, fostering leadership through volunteer and charitable work and community service. We will miss her passion, her commitment for our members, and her quick wit and fantastic laugh, which made Pamela so enjoyable to work with. She will leave a lasting legacy at Texas Trust.”

“I am thankful to have spent my career in a movement that puts people above profits,” said Stephens. “Credit union people are the best and I am grateful to my friends in the industry, from whom I have learned so much over the years.”
