Teachers Federal's TFCUniversity Hosts Another Class

HAUPPAUGE, N.Y. – Teachers Federal Credit Union hosted an event to educate business owners on franchise management.  It was the third installation of its TFCUniversity Business Clinic series, titled “All About Franchises,” and was held at the CU’s headquarters with more than 50 peopl in attendance. 

“During this event in our TFCUniversity series, we were able to provide the local business community with a better understanding of the ins and outs of the franchise industry,” said Robert G. Allen, president and CEO of TFCU. “As a locally grown credit union on Long Island, we remain committed to offering resourceful information to entrepreneurs across the Island.”

During the event, a panel discussion lead by Adam Altman, Regional Vice President for Newtek- The Small Business Authority, explored the technology and implementation of EMV’s and franchise financing. Panelists included:

  • John Mallano, Deputy District Director, New York District Office of the Small Business Administration.
  • Laura Jankowski, Owner & Long Island Area Developer, Tropical Smoothie.
  • Harold Kestenbaum, an attorney who has served as franchise counsel to regional, national and international franchise companies in diverse industries including Sbarro, Boulder Creek Steaks & Saloon, Nathan’s Famous and others.
