HAUPPAUGUE, N.Y.-- Teachers Federal Credit Union participated with the nonprofit organization KaBOOM!, ABC, Disney VoluntEARs, and community members to build a new playground in Central Islip, New York.
“As a locally grown credit union here on Long Island, we feel it is incredibly important to give back to the communities in which we live and work,” said TFCU CEO Robert G. Allen. “We know the residents of Central Islip and neighboring towns will benefit because of this new park and we are proud to have been a part of the building process.” The TFCU volunteers, known as Team TFCU, helped turn an empty lot into a kid-centric play space within eight hours. More than 7,200 kids are expected to use the new park.
