HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.—Teachers FCU helped raise more than $140,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
"We take great pride in our efforts to support the communities we serve, and with one in eight women in the United States diagnosed with breast cancer, we are steadfast in our commitment to helping the American Cancer Society provide care to those affected by this disease," said President and CEO Brad Calhoun. "This year, Teachers had the privilege of sponsoring three Making Strides events in New York and Florida, and we are honored to play a role in helping the American Cancer Society exceed its fundraising goals."
Making Strides of Long Island is the largest Making Strides event in the country. Teachers FCU said it proudly returned for the second year as the Presenting Sponsor of the event, with more than 300 Teachers employees participating in the walk and fundraising. In 2023, the walk helped raise a total of $2.25 million for the fight against breast cancer.
In addition to its support for Making Strides of Long Island, Teachers Federal Credit Union served as the Flagship Sponsor of Making Strides of Eastern Long Island and Making Strides of Tampa.
