Teachers FCU Awards Six Scholarships

HAUPPAUGUE, N.Y. – Teachers Federal Credit Union has awarded six Long Island high school seniors with $1,000 scholarships to help fund their higher education.

“Congratulations to this year’s six scholarship winners,” said Robert G. Allen, President & CEO, TFCU. “As a locally grown credit union, we proudly support the next generation of future Long Island leaders. We know these six students will continue to put their best foot forward as they advance to the next level of their education. We hope they will find new ways through their studies to positively impact Long Island.”

The recipients of the 2015 scholarships are:

  • Zachary Harned of Selden who graduates from Newfield High School and will attend The University of Tampa.
  • Gabriella Ledda of Wading River who graduates from Shoreham-Wading River High School and will study Nursing at the University of Delaware.
  • Tiffany Leigh of Centereach who graduates from Centereach High School and will attend SUNY Delhi.
  • Hannah Parbst of Setauket who graduates from Ward Melville High School and will study Communication Management and Design at Ithaca College.
  • William Reid of Kings Park who graduates from St. John the Baptist Diocesan High School and will study Chemistry at Drexel University.
  • Brock Whitman of Smithtown who graduates from Hauppauge High School and will study Business at SUNY Geneseo 

This year, TFCU had more than 550 submissions.
