TDECU Supports School Drive, Honors Educators

LAKE JACKSON, Texas TDECU’s Corporate Campus and Member Centers throughout the Texas Gulf Coast area, Greater Houston and the Texas Crossroads area collected items as part of the organization’s annual REAL School Supply Drive.

With donations from both employees and TDECU members, this year’s fundraiser generated over 3,800 backpack items including school supplies, new tennis shoes, personal care kits and other necessities to help local students in need get a strong start to the school year. The drive benefitted multiple charitable organizations.

In addition, as part of an annual tradition to kick off the new school year, several teams from TDECU’s local Member Centers participated in Crossroads’ area back-to-school events honoring local educators. Celebrations were held in August and included several Independent School Districts. TDECU sponsored meals for several of the events, and provided reusable lunch totes to teachers as a special thank you for their commitment to educating area youth.
