TDECU Staff Race for Cure, Help Local Food Bank

HOUSTON— A team of 40 dedicated TDECU team members, organized by Keva Jones, once again laced up their running shoes in support of Houston’s 2016 Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series. This has become an annual tradition for TDECU employees.

An estimated 20,000 supporters participated in the run/walk series, including those who have been affected by, are battling and are survivors of breast cancer. This year’s event raised more than $500,000, 75% of which will be put to work supporting local Houston-based education, screening and treatment programs, with the remaining 25% of funds raised going to the Susan G. Komen Grants Program.

In addition to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series, TDECU employees have participated in the BP MS150 Bike Ride, the Run for the Rose and Relay for Life.

Separately, TDECU employees came together with the University of Houston’s Bauer College Alumni Association for the 5th National Day of Service in support of the Houston Food Bank. The team, made up of more than 25 volunteers helped sort donations, inspects items, and pack family meals. In total, efforts for the day provided 19,620 meals to those in need throughout Greater Houston and surrounding areas.
