LAKE JACKSON, Texas— TDECU – Your Credit Union sponsored and presented “All About Credit,” the first of three Financial Empowerment Series events in partnership with the University of Houston’s Urban Experience Program (UEP).
The event brought in 25-30 students who took part in learning the fundamentals of establishing and building good credit. Presenter Ryan Palma, Member Center manager for TDECU’s University of Houston-Student Center location, helped attendees understand how credit scores are determined, the fundamentals of building and maintaining a healthy credit score and the financial benefits of improving credit.
In partnership with TDECU, the Financial Empowerment Series is designed to provide UEP students and the UH community with financial teaching, resources and tools to be fiscally responsible and astute. The program consists of a series of workshops that address the financial interest and educational needs of students. All students are encouraged to engage and participate in the financial empowerment series.
