HOUSTON— TDECU was a presenting sponsor of the 2016 Cougar 100 celebration, collected 2,400 food items, and has hit the 250,000 member mark.
The 2016 Cougar 100 is an annual University of Houston Alumni Association event recognizing the 100 most successful Cougar-owned and Cougar-led companies in the nation and internationally. In addition to this year’s honorees, the event was attended by University of Houston alumni, previous Cougar 100 honorees and business leaders.
To be considered for this prestigious honor, businesses must be 51% or more owned, led or founded by a University of Houston alumni. Those who make the final list are ranked by percentage of compound annual growth in sales or revenue.
The event, organized by the University of Houston Alumni Association, the Houston Business Journal, and sponsored by TDECU, represents their shared commitment to the educational, community and leadership efforts of the University of Houston.
Separately, TDECU’s annual food drive collected more than 2,400 items for donation to local community organizations (below). Non-perishable items were donated by Employees and Members across the Texas Gulf Coast, Greater Houston, Crossroads and Dallas/Fort Worth service areas. Collected items were donated to a variety of charitable organizations including the Houston Food Bank, Women’s Center of Brazoria County, Brazoria County Dream Center, Yoakum Food Bank and Meals on Wheels of Central Texas.
Finally, TDECU reported it has reached 250,000 Members, marking an important milestone in the credit union’s long-range growth plan. President and Chief Executive Officer, Stephanie Sherrodd, notes, “TDECU is a credit union with deep Texas roots. We take an active role in our local
