TDECU Opens New Branch

VICTORIA, Texas–TDECU held a grand opening for its new Victorial Navarro Member Center.

addition to celebrating the opening of the new, state-of-the-art Member Center at 9009 North Navarro Street, the event focused on the credit union’s deep roots in the region with appearances from civic leaders and local student groups and donations to fight food insecurity in the community, TDECU said.

TDECU’s new Victoria Navarro location replaced the former Member Center that was located inside Victoria Mall. Gulf Coast Market President Josh Brian said the facility was designed to improve the member experience by making it easier for members to do business with the credit union.

The welcoming layout includes two in-person teller stations, four drive-thru lanes, and a coin machine.

“When it comes to Victoria, we know this area is called The Crossroads,” Brian said. “In other words, you’ll cross through here on your journey to several major cities. I think that Victoria and TDECU have that in common.  When our Members are at a point of decision in their lives, TDECU is there to help them along their financial journeys."

To emphasize the credit union’s commitment to being present in the community, the ribbon-cutting event featured remarks from the Victoria Chamber of Commerce and celebrated the annual “Battle for the Boot,” the eagerly anticipated high school football showdown between the Victoria West Warriors and Victoria East Titans. The Member Center hosted a game-day pep rally with appearances from the Victoria West High School band and drumline, cheerleaders, dance team, and Ballet Folklorico students.

In the week leading up to the grand opening, TDECU also hosted a canned food drive in which community members were encouraged to visit the new Member Center and cast their vote for their favorite team by dropping off a non-perishable food donation in one of the two designated bins, each representing either the Warriors or the Titans.

The Member Center collected a total of 320 canned food items to benefit the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, an organization that serves over 100 agencies across 11 counties, fighting the persistent issue of food insecurity.

“We’re overjoyed with the success of our grand opening, and it is just the beginning of our journey to better serve our Members,” said Victoria Member Center Manager Mary Jane Rodriguez. “Our doors are open, and we’re ready to partner with the community to help them build a stronger financial future.”

Hit Radio 104-7 KVIC broadcasted live from the Member Center, and attendees enjoyed complimentary treats and drinks, games for giveaways, and information for new and existing Members on how the credit union can help them navigate each stage of their financial journeys.
