SUFFOLK, N.Y.--Suffolk Federal has hired Renee Sumpter as Vice President and Controller.
"Sumpter is located at the Medford branch and in this position is responsible for ensuring that the credit union is compliant in generally accepted accounting principles and adherent to governing rules and regulations. She oversees the production of financial reports delivered to Suffolk Federal’s Board of Directors as well as regulatory reporting. As Controller, Sumpter represents the Accounting department as the primary contact for internal audits, external financial audits and regulatory exams." the CU said.

Prior to joining Suffolk Federal, Sumpter was employed at Albrecht, Viggiano, Zureck & Co., P.C. in Hauppauge as a Manager and Margolin, Winer & Evens, LLP in Garden City as a Senior Accountant. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the State University of New York in Binghamton.
