SUFFOLK, N.Y.– Suffolk Federal members donated more than $1,000 to the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County, the largest youth-serving nonprofit agency on Long Island, serving more than 40,000 girls and 7,000 adult volunteers.
Each year, Suffolk Federal members donate their cash-back incentive—five-cents from each signature-based purchase made using their Suffolk Federal Girl Scouts MasterCard Debit Card—back to Girl Scouts. Suffolk Federal additionally donates the net proceeds of each member’s Suffolk Federal Girl Scouts checkbook purchase.
“It’s an honor to work with the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County to provide continued opportunities for the young girls in our communities,” said Sarah McCandless, Executive Vice President & Chief Financial Officer at Suffolk Federal and Board Member for the Girl Scouts of Suffolk County. “Partnering with the Girl Scouts is a win-win. Offering a checking account that brings in additional funding to their agency is a great way for our members and the credit union to support such an important cause.”
