SUFFOLK, N.Y.–In an effort to support the charitable work of local organizations that serve the areas of Suffolk Federal branch locations, the credit union has identified nonprofit organizations to provide financial support to. In Eastport, Branch Manager Debra Castro presented a $1,000 contribution to The Butterfly Effect Project.
“Assisting these young girls to take charge of their futures is empowering,” said Castro. “What they are doing here is amazing and we are proud to take part in helping them become productive and successful members of our community.”
“We run solely on the generosity of others and are very grateful for the donation made by Suffolk Federal,” said Tijuana Fulford, Founder of The Butterfly Effect Project. “Our mission it to ensure that every girl has a fair chance to broaden their horizons and remove obstacles that are unfairly weighing them down such as mobility, economics and cultural differences. This donation is going to help tremendously to send some of our Butterflies away to summer camp.”
