CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. – April showers brought May flowers from four local schools into the FreeStar Financial Credit Union branches. Beautiful artwork created by local students brightened the branch lobbies at all four FreeStar Financial Credit Union locations.
The Clinton Township branch on Gratiot just north of 16 Mile Road features artwork from Clintondale Middle School. Art teacher Leslie Morris just couldn’t decide which were her favorites, so there are around 50 vibrant pieces displayed in the branch. In the Sterling Heights branch at Van Dyke just south of 15 Mile Road, 18 Davis Jr. High School art projects supplied by art teacher Alissa Osadchuk are on display depicting springtime. At the Chesterfield branch on Sugarbush and 21 Mile roads, art from L’Anse Creuse Middle School-North is displayed. Susan Smyk, the art teacher, had students create Georgia O’Keeffe style pastels, which are mounted on 12” x 18” black backdrops. Lastly, the Selfridge branch features art from the Bryant Child Development Center on base. Students from the Strong Beginnings Pre-K class, painted pictures of what they think wind looks like. They are proudly on display when you enter the branch.
“Our relationships with our local community partners like schools are very important to us here at FreeStar Financial Credit Union,” said Drema Isaac, President/CEO. “We are so happy to have the opportunity to showcase the artwork of our local students and share it with others in our community. Our staff and members really enjoy seeing the beautiful artwork on display, and it is really rewarding to see the pride on the students’ faces when they bring their parent into one of our branches to show them their piece of art being displayed for the community to see.”
